Many people are unaware of the crucial role that South Carolina played in the struggle for American independence. South Carolina suffered greatly during the campaign, perhaps more than any other colony. The campaign against Charleston in 1780 began the British major operations in the South and which eventually led them on the road to defeat at Yorktown. As British soldiers surrounded the Charleston peninsula, everyday life changed drastically for residents. Many houses in the city were burned as war came to the Low Country. This tour will bring some of those historical events to life. Tour does not offer hotel pick-up. Includes admission to Old Exchange Building. Child rate applies to children ages 8 to 14 (ages 7 and under are free). Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 888-651-1125.
